What People Think Anxiety Looks Like Vs What It REALLY Feels Like
Evidence suggests that the sooner you get help and support, the more likely it is you will get better and reduce or improve anxiety. So, when you begin reducing and managing anxiety, you also begin taking care of your physical health, your feelings, your mental health, your relationships, your social life and many other aspects of your life. So, the sooner you seek help and support, the sooner you improve your quality of life. ANXIETY: there are many forms of anxiety including: * Everyday Stress * Everyday Anxiety * Generalised Anxiety * Work Anxiety * Social Anxiety/Social Phobia * Panic Disorder/Panic Attacks * Specific Phobias/Phobias or Specific Anxiety (e.g. phobia/anxiety about going out, small spaces, spiders, * PTSD * Existential Anxiety/Angst * Obsessive Compulsive Disorder * Pure-O * Body Dysmorphic Disorder/Body Image * Trauma * Trichotillomania/Dermatillomania * Climate Anxiety * Vegan Anxiety * Hormonal Anxiety (brought on by e.g. menstruation, peri/menopause etc.) Some pe

Therapy is a Shared Collaboration
We love this visual metaphor of psychotherapy and counselling. If the therapist and client work together, in collaboration, with trust, safety and patience, and the client makes the commitment to attend sessions, do the work (even when it's tricky at times) and commit to change, even when change might be difficult, this picture is what can happen and life can truly change, for the better, for the client. Sometimes things are better said with pictures. This picture is a great example of that. If you have a problem, concern or something distressing you would like to work on or want some support with, get in touch today and find out what support is available. Our therapists are all friendly, professional, encouraging and professional and tailor therapy, as much as is possible, to your needs, preferences and goals. Therapy is at your pace too. We can offer in-person appointments at our lovely offices in Glasgow city centre or online appointments to anyone across the UK. Our contact details

Focus on....Existential Depression
Most people experience some form of low mood, sadness, or depression at some point in their lives. This can often arise in response to situations in their life at that time. For example, trauma, accident, bereavement, loss of job, death of significant other, health issues and many other situations. There are many factors that contribute to the development of low mood and depression. These include biological and hormonal factors and depressive periods can be seasonal, situational or intrapersonal. Often a period of low mood or depression develops through a combination of factors and this can be different for each individual experiencing low mood or depression. For many, a period of low mood or depression and the feelings, emotions and symptoms that accompany such can often be short-term and don’t have a long-lasting impact on quality of life. However, for others, low mood and depression can be longer-lasting and have a significant and powerful impact on their life, how they feel, their

How are you? No, really, how are you?
Hello! How are you? We're guessing that I might already know the answer to that though and you have found yourself here because, actually you’re not feeling all that good at the moment. Is that right? We all don’t feel so good sometimes and that's ok; however, sometimes, we can feel anxious, down, hurt, in pain, numb and a whole load of other things for quite a long time and that’s not ok. Why? Because the longer things go on, the worse we feel and it affects our behaviour, relationships, how we feel about ourselves, our views, work and lots of other things in life. We often see how things start out small: they bother us in a small way to start with, but the problem ends up snowballing, growing arms and legs everywhere and we end up feeling life is going around in circles, getting nowhere and not knowing how to change it. Many people we work with in therapy and counselling describe how this causes them to end up feeling stuck and unable to move: a bit like being trapped in a spider’s w
