Under 18s Services & Support

Getting Started With 5 Easy Steps

We can also provide access to services and support for children and young people under 12-18 years old. Two of our Affiliate Therapists and Counsellors, Jackie and Amanda, can provide therapy, counselling and support to children and young people. They both work integratively from a CBT model and incorporate other modalities, for example, solution focused,  person-centred, trauma-focused, attachment, coaching and other approaches  into therapy and counselling. Our therapists and counsellors are supportive, encouraging and can really build a rapport with your child or teenager to help them feel more at ease and comfortable within the therapy setting. You can be assured that your child or teenager is in safe hands and their therapist will work at your child/teenager's pace and tailor therapy, as much as is possible, to how they like to work in therapy. There is no pressure: only support, empathy, understanding, encouragement and patience.

Please note that while we do refer clients onto our highly qualified Affiliate Therapists and Counsellors, they are self-employed, independent practitioners who receive referrals from GADS on a sessional basis. Nevertheless, you can get in touch with us at GADS anytime about your therapist/counsellor, if you have any questions, need more information or wish to see another therapist/counsellor.

Please be assured that our Affiliates are all fully qualified, insured and experienced practitioners who engage with high quality Continuous Professional Development (CPD) and attend regular clinical supervision. All Affiliates are selected using a strict application process (application form, references, competence assessment, evidence of skills/qualifications/experience etc.) and follow our high standards, guidelines, working agreements and confidentiality policies - so you know you are in safe hands! You will receive specific information about the therapist/counsellor who has been allocated to you when you enquire.

Getting started with our services is easy! Follow the steps below or feel free to get in touch if you have any questions, need any more information or need to check out something with us.  We are here to help! Even if you are not sure what type of therapy or support you want or need, don't worry - we will discuss this via email or in-person at the Assessment Session.
